special edition: maternity style

I am both flattered and honored to receive so many sweet emails and replies to my Instagram and blog posts. Lately it seems like there is something in the water because a lot of my beautiful friends and family members are pregnant. This also transfers to my What Amanda Wore readers. I have received emails asking for a blog post on what maternity looks I love and what I would wear if I was pregnant myself. 

Below are some of my favorite maternity looks from Pinterest. With style icons like Keira Knightley and Blake Lively making maternity style so chic and effortless all at once the inspiration is never ending. As the photos show below, I am a fan of the form fitting dresses and ensembles that show off the baby bump. Not only are they figure flattering, they also show off the amazing child to be you are carrying. 

current obsession: Spring beauty looks

Spring cleaning doesn't just apply to our homes, offices, and closets, it also applies to our make-up. There is nothing more beautiful than dewy skin that glows from within. I am looking forward to focusing on using products to achieve skin that radiates. 

I recently shopped a Target haul stocking up on products that friends and beauty blogs have raved about (and a few that Jlo's make-up artist uses on the gorgeous woman herself). I look forward to giving them a trial period in the next week and share with you on my Youtube page.

Tis the season of spring. I am ready for beautiful pastel colored garments, sundresses, and fresh, glowing make-up looks. From my conversations with family and friends, I have learned I am not the only one feeling this way.

wine not

In just over two weeks I will be in my happy place: Napa Valley. Napa Valley is stunning, simply stunning and is such a fun place to visit. Two of its main draws are two of my favorite things: dining and wine tasting. 

I will be going to celebrate Valentines Day and my two year wedding anniversary with my amazing husband. Look forward to some photos from the stunning Napa Valley and our favorite vacation stops.

You can never go wrong with the classics. Today I gravitated towards my J.Crew lace tee and my GAP skinny jeans for the clean and fresh white tee and blue jeans look. 

White button ups and tees are going to be everywhere this spring. Go through your closet and get those babies ready for the upcoming season. Spring will be here before we know it and I am so thrilled. I am ready for some dresses and shorts weather.

the beauty in everything

As I lay in bed sick as a dog for the past few days, I came across this beautiful quote and had to share it with you all. I love the simplicity in the message. Strive to live your life in such a way and I ensure you that the best things will come your way. Yes, not everything will be what you believe is the best for you, but don't mistake it for choices and decisions to regret. Everything happens for a reason and we are guided throughout our journey through life. All of the occurrences and choices we make happen for a reason.

I make a conscious choice to wake up everyday with a happy, positive outlook on my life and I live my life to the fullest. I have never been happier and am so blessed as I live with such an outlook on life. I highly encourage you to see the beauty in everything. 

Look forward to some new styling posts as I heal and am feeling back to normal. Having laryngitis, cobblestones on my throat, and a fever along with body aches definitely threw me off my A-game.

These red skinnies from American Eagle are so fab. I have had them for years and they are as comfortable as they are stylish. I paired these red skinnies with a white tank and white blazer for a clean, edgy look with my studded flats and gold accessories. 

This outfit would be perfect for many occasions as it is stylish, fresh, and clean. I love pairing colored jeans, printed pants, and cargo skinnys (a la J Brand) with basic neutrals for an effortless look.

snow day

We have snow in Southern California. What a rarity. It snowed a couple of days ago and I had to go see it myself before it all melts. What a perfect ending to my weekend.

There is little I enjoy more than a day of wine tasting with my husband. We always enjoy spending the day trying out new wines, touring our favorite wineries, and traveling through the beautiful landscapes of California's various wine countries. 

I made sure to dress in layers for our wine tasting adventure today because I wasn't sure how the weather would be. It ended up being in the high 60's at the peak of the day and I was so comfortable. These dresses from the Basics collection at H&M are so comfortable. I highly encourage you to check them out if you are needing a great layering piece.

when in doubt, wear sequins

Sequins are not just for NYE, your birthday, or G.N.O. Sequins are fit for any occasion and add such great detail to your ensemble. This sequin top is a great one I purchased from Forever 21. It definitely brings an element of fun to whatever I pair the top with. You can pair your sequin top, blazer, or skirt with neutral pieces to let the sequins shine (no pun intended) and steal the spotlight of your outfit. 

So when in doubt, wear sequins. Style on, dolls.

I am a fan of mixing the classics together for a fun pop of color. Winter wardrobe can be especially drab if you are sticking to your routine sweater, boots, and coat. Therefore you have to dress it up in other ways such as unexpected patterns, designs, and layering. 

I love the look of a classic, striped shirt with a plaid scarf. It is a classy way to bring some personality to your winter ensemble. What are your favorite patterns to mix together?
