Sunday Romance

Oh, how I love Sundays. To me, they are the most relaxing days to spend doing things you love with those you love. I hope you all had a wonderful Sunday and a great weekend. xoxo

Lace for Day and Night

A Saturday is always a great day because you are in the midst of the weekend and still can look forward to Sunday Funday. During my Saturday, I slept in and caught up on some much needed zzzz's followed by a double date lunch with good friends. For my daytime activities, I couldn't resist remixing this lace beauty into my wardrobe. I paired the top with some of my favorite khaki shorts from the Gap. These khaki shorts are the epitome of a casual California wardrobe staple. Top all of this off with my fav sunnies, my aviator Ray Bans of course, and I was set for the day.

When my husband told me he was taking me out for a movie date this evening, I knew that meant one thing. My Novella Royale bells were what I needed to wear. I just LOVE and LIVE for any bells from Novella Royale. They are so comfortable and so gorgeous. The prints, details, and cut of the bells really are one of a kind. TRUST me and go out to get a pair. It will be a decision you will thank me for. :)

Summer Neutrals

T.G.I.F! Happy Friday to you all! I am so in need of a relaxing and fun weekend. I hope you all have the same!

Today's dress is so darling. I love it and can't believe I haven't put it to good use. So I decided to wear it today and paired it with a cream flower pin I placed in my hair. I also went with my usual: gold jewelry. I kept everything light and neutral for a great, summer look.

Jumpsuit, Funsuit

I love a good jumpsuit. Not only are they comfortable, they are soooo easy. You don't have to put a lot of thought into building an outfit. So on a day like today when I am running quite low on sleep, this Free People perfection was what I reached for instantly.

I paired this beauty with a great lace bralette from Victoria's Secret, piled on my jewelry, and I was good to go.

Lace Dreams

How gorgeous was this view tonight? My husband and I enjoyed our beach walk after tacos and margaritas at our Taco Tuesday spot. Corona Del Mar cannot get any more perfect in my opinion.

This top is just so b-e-a-u-t-i-f-u-l! I can not get over the romantic, off the shoulder cut of this lace piece. The best part about this beautiful top (from Urban Outfitters) is that is was originally selling for $50.00 and I found it on the sale rack yesterday for $9.99! I cannot believe I scored such a killer deal on such a beautiful piece, but, hey, I'll take it! :) This top has such a hippie, bohemian feel and it paired so nicely with my ripped skinny jeans and gold, gladiator sandals.

I am thrilled to add this fabulous lace top to my closet. It will pair wonderfully with many pieces I currently own, including my Novella Royale bells. I am thinking that might have to be an upcoming outfit on What Amanda Wore.

Baking Bit: Gluten-Free Banana Bread

Obviously, this is a fashion blog, but I love sharing beauty bits and, now, baking bits with you. Any great recipe is worth sharing, right? I rarely bake. I just don't have the patience for it. I am an excellent cook and that is where all my creative energy in the kitchen goes. But this recipe is so delicious and easy, I use it to make this banana bread all of the time.

Next time you crave banana bread or have some ripe bananas make sure to give this recipe a try.

Gluten-Free Banana Bread Recipe

Prep. time: 15 minutes. Cook time: 45-55 for loaves/20-25 for muffins.

ingredients-
2 cups gluten-free all purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
4 eggs
2 cups mashed, ripe bananas (4-5 medium)
1 cup sugar
2/3 cup applesauce
1/3 cup canola oil
1 tsp. vanilla extract
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
*I throw in a tablespoon of flaxseed for the health benefits. This is an optional ingredient.

directions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit
2. In a large bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, and salt. In a small bowl, whisk the eggs, bananas, sugar, applesauce, oil, and vanilla. Stir the dry and wet ingredients just until moistened.
3. Transfer to two 8 x 4 inch loaf pans or muffin pans. Sprinkle with walnuts. Bake for 45-55 minutes for loaves or 20-25 minutes for muffins.
4. Cool for ten minutes.

Here is the flour mixture with some of the other ingredients the recipe calls for.

This is as delicious as it looks!

I have based this recipe of the one I found on Taste of Home's website. Nutritional facts found here

Until next time,

Disney Day

Disneyland is my favorite place in the world. I love going there and experiencing the Disney "magic." It was the perfect day to go to Disney due to warm weather, little crowds, and new princess mouse ears. :)

I went with one of my favorite crop tops with my American Eagle shorties and rainbow sandals. Isn't this hot pink clutch to die for? I love it! It was one of my spur the moment purchases during a Target shopping trip.

I hope you all are having a great Sunday Funday!

Saturday in the Garden

Who doesn't love a Saturday well spent? I had the greatest day with family; first, lunch with my husband, second, time in the garden, and third, dinner with my family. I feel spoiled with love and laughter today.

Today's outfit of the day consisted of bright, colorful pieces: my coral dress and turquoise necklace. I found the bright colors to be fitting as today was the first day of summer. I hope you all had a great first day of summer and did something outdoorsy to celebrate!

Kimono Love

I had to repeat this kimono last night because I just love it. It is to die for. I paired it with a crop top and my favorite American Eagle Outfitter jeggings for a laid back, casual look.

I hope you all have a fabulous weekend and enjoy today as it is the first day of summer! :)

The Classics

Today was a gorgeous Thursday! I spent the day all to myself enjoying a great lunch and later a date night with my husband (Side note: you all have to see 22 Jumpstreet because it is hilarious! It was the funniest movie I have seen in a long time!). Today's outfit consisted of all the classics: Levi cutoffs, white button-up, leather belt, and my Rainbow sandals. I loved throwing in the turquoise necklace for a pop of color.

What are your go-to classic pieces? Please share with me! xoxo
