Floral Jumpsuit

Jumpsuits are my everything. A good jumpsuit really is a go-to look for any occasion. I love this Novella Royale jumpsuit because its colorful, floral print, unbelievably soft fabric, and immaculate design. It has a romantic, off the shoulder cut to it #winning. But, of course, I could never expect anything less from Novella Royale. They always knock it out of the park, always

If you have been hesitant about trying a jumpsuit, let me tell you now to go for it! You won't regret it. There are so many great patterns, cuts, and designs to flatter all body shapes. I prefer the ones that nip in at the waist either by design or with a belt or tie. Your waist will thank you, trust me.

Style on, my friends.

Weekend Getaway

Wow oh wow, did I need a getaway? A staycation was in order and that is what I got this weekend. I snuck away to my parent's house for my art class (see previous post) and I stayed the night with my mom and sweet Anabelle. After weeks of little sleep, long work hours, and back to back activities, some R & R was what my body and mind were craving.

I was able to completely shut off the outside world and take part in the things I love in the town I love: my hometown. I was able to eat at my favorite restaurants, shop at my favorite antique store, take a relaxing bubble bath, catch up on sleep, and spend time with family.

I am refreshed, reenergized, and looking forward to sharing some great outfits and styling with you all this week. I also will be heading to the river for Labor Day and can't wait to get some vacation time under my belt.

My beautiful mama and my baby, Anabelle.
Ice cream date with Anabelle before heading home.

My finds at the antique store. I am planning on chalk painting the watering can.
Here are some of my frames displayed in my living room with my vintage door and wine barrel.

Chalk Painting

My favorite part of the weekend had to be the chalk painting class I took with my mom. We have been wanting to learn how to chalk paint for years and often died over the beautiful pieces we have seen on ETSY and in antique stores. We took the class at the darling shop Mak & Jill in downtown San Clemente. If you are interested in learning how to chalk paint and live in So Cal, I highly suggest checking it out.

I already have a pile of things that I have collected over the years that I am dying to chalk paint. I may just have to begin tonight ... I loved the class that much.

Wish me luck.

xoxo Amanda

My gorgeous mama hard at work. She is planning on chalk painting various cabinets throughout her home. This pale pink shade is to die for.
Before the chalk painting.

How adorable is this little Spanish villa turned antique/art store? I feel blessed to have spent my early childhood in one of the historic homes downtown in San Clemente. It was as beautiful as this one.
My finished product. Darling little aqua table for my kitchen. I will be displaying vintage tea cups on it.

Ice Cream Sundae Date

Who doesn't love ice cream sundaes? I mean they are the best thing in the world in my opinion. When I was running on five hours of sleep and completed my long, tiring work day Friday, all I could think about was going on a dessert date with my husband.

Let me tell you it was better than I imagined and was well worth the calories. :)

Pageant of the Masters

Happy Friday! Three cheers for the weekend!

Last night I went to the Pageant of the Masters with my husband and some of our friends. It was such a wonderful show and I loved every minute of it.

For the show, I went with one of the prettiest dresses in my clothing collection. It is a dainty, rose colored minidress with beautiful ruffle detailing along the front and back. It is so delicate and was perfect for the event.

Beauty Bit: Essentials

I love beauty products. I actually may have a problem. I love trying out new nail polishes, hair products, and make-up. But I do love my "can't live without" products and am extremely loyal with my use of them.

The first product I can't live without is Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray. It is the ultimate hair product and transforms your hair into goddess, Victoria's Secret model hair in a flash. Buy it, try it, love it. You won't regret it.

Secondly, what woman can resist Chanel nail polish? Especially after trying it just once ... that is all it takes. I am an avid nail painter. I don't even think I have gotten my nails painted since March. Clearly, I love doing them myself and feel I do a better job than they do in the salon. But back to the Chanel nail polish. It is so glossy, shiny, and durable. I just bought this new shade called Atmosphere. I am going to layer it over a milky white shade tonight.

Lastly, my go-to foundation. I am still wanted to try to the Giorgio Armani Maestro foundation due to all of the wonderful things I have read and heard. That being said I love the way this MAC foundation blends into my skin without smothering it with a cakey look. I feel like it looks natural and gives me a glow that lasts all day.

L.P.D.

It is all about the little purple dress, not the little black dress, today. I love the color and print on this dress. It is so perfect for fall. I already added a touch of fall style into the look with boot socks with my booties. Fall style = love, love, love.

Casual Layers

A little layering goes a long way and I love this look. This embellished slip looks great styled in so many ways. This look is great for a casual day of errands and a lunch date.

Sunday in Newport

What a beautiful weekend here in So Cal! We had the most perfect weather and I am definitely grateful for it. Today my husband and I took Anabelle down to Balboa Island for lunch and a walk along the Balboa Fun Zone. Sunday is my favorite day of the week because I love family time. I always end up cooking a big dinner on Sundays and tonight it was spaghetti with some delicious baguette bread and a bottle of Chianti.

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

Little Matching Set

Matching sets are just the most darling things and they make dressing so much easier. They have the simplicity of a dress in the sense that it is you throw them on and you are done. No long minutes thinking "I have no idea what to pair with this maxi skirt or printed top" and repetitive "five more minutes" declarations to your man. Let's just say you all will be happier.

This set is one of the outfits I have that veers more to my girly side. It is fun to wear outfits that are pretty and make you feel pretty as you complete your day to day responsibilities. Yes, life is too short to wear ugly clothes. I am not the first to say it and I definitely won't be the last. But I don't mean my opinion of ugly or your friends, coworkers, or family. Rather ugly as wearing something you don't love and don't feel your absolute best in. Always wear things that make you feel gorgeous and beautiful inside and out because you know you are expressing your true style and flattering your body in the best way possible. If you do that, you truly have nothing to lose.

Okay, so it is Friday and I couldn't be more thrilled. I will be screaming HELLO WEEKEND officially at 5 pm! I hope you all enjoy your weekend. Keep checking back here and my instragram for some fashion inspiration for your weekend outings and dates.

xoxo Amanda

All in the Details

How gorgeous is this embellished slip? I am so in love with it and want it in every color. I love how versatile the slip is - you can wear it as a dress, a tank, or layered under a cozy, knit sweater for fall.

It pairs nicely with my distressed boyfriend jeans, booties, and gold statement watch.

Love Me Loves Me Not

Mondays may be rough, but my little Anabelle makes them so much better. I love our nightly walks my husband and I take her on (even if she can't technically walk on a leash with her risk of picking up parasites and diseases). Once she gets all of her shots she will be able to walk and run all over. I am so thrilled we live in a place that has nice weather year round. It really allows us to take her on hikes, beach walks, and camping trips whenever we so wish. She is such a snuggle bug and I am so in love with her.

The dress I wore today was one of my favorites by Free People. I definitely have a love affair with maxi dresses and this one is no different. The strappy back detail only adds to the beauty and uniqueness of the dress.

Having long hair, I have to say that crown braids might just be my favorite updo ever. They are so easy to create yet look so beautiful, soft, and bohemian all in one.

Sunday Stroll

Happy Sunday to you all! I hope you all had a great weekend. We had a great first weekend with our new baby girl, Anabelle. Between her first vet appointment, a family birthday party, and some time with my husband, this weekend flew by.

As we took Anabelle on a walk to Mother's Market, I wore my new tank I picked up at Free People. I love the cut and print of this tank. It is so versatile and will pair well with so many things in my closet. I am thinking boyfriend jeans, black leather pants, and layered over a light, summer dress.

Touches of Fall

Yesterday was cold. Not freezing cold, but to a Southern California native, windy with a chill in the air. We didn't have our usual 80+ degree jacket free weather by the beaches. Therefore I had the perfect excuse to throw on my favorite Free People boot socks with my brown boots. I love the versatility of this dress. I am easily able to transition it into fall with cozy, warm layers.

If you are a What Amanda Wore follower, you know fall is my favorite season and I am so ready for it to begin. I am all about autumn!

Here's to a great weekend. I hope you all enjoy it and get to do the things you love with those you love. Check out the blog for some great outfits coming up this weekend.
